Blessing of Animals

Saturday, October 1st

Come join us on at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 1st, for the annual Blessing of Animals as we celebrate the Feast of Saint Francis of Assisi. We give thanks for the joy our pets and service animals give us, and everyone is welcome. Invite your friends!

Bring your cats, dogs, sheep, goats, hamsters, even a horse as we gather in our front yard and each critter receives a blessing. We do ask that all animals be on a leash or in a carrier. Refreshments for humans and pets will follow.

Children Participate in Worship

During part of the service, we offer Godly Play, a Montessori-based spiritual system that invites children’s inquiry into scripture and our liturgical traditions.  Through storytelling, children, aged 4-11, are asked to involve themselves in the story, and at their developmental stage.  This  produces a deeper sense of understanding.  For more information on Godly Play click here

Older children participate as altar servers (also called acolytes).
One Sunday a month we call Family Sunday.  After the readings, children sit up front on the steps before the altar and listen to a homily designed especially for them.
